As the dramatic growth of the mobile web changes the way people consume content, it's becoming increasingly important for publishers to provide a good mobile experience. With this in mind, we just added automatic mobile rendering in Google Sites for iOS 3.0+ and Android 2.2+ devices, and a mobile version of the Google Sites lists.
By going to General settings under More actions > Manage site and clicking on Automatically adjust site for mobile phones, your Google site will be automatically adjusted whenever it's viewed from an iOS or Android 2.2+ device:
Before After
The most noticeable automatic adjustments include:After you've enabled this feature, you can preview the page from your computer as a mobile viewer using More actions > Preview as viewer (Mobile).
- Aligning the header layout and top bar
- Fitting the width of the site to match the device's width
- Smart handling of sidebars, horizontal navigation, and dropdown links
You can also choose to hide some of the links in your site's footer to save vertical space.
It's also important for you to be able to access and search your own sites on the go, which is why we've also added mobile versions of the site list, sites search, and browse sites categories.
Just navigate to http://sites.google.com from any iOS 3.0+ or Android 2.2+ device for quick access to your sites.
As more people unplug from their desks and interact with content on the go, new doors are opening for everyone. We hope these tools will empower you to meet the challenges of publishing in a mobile world using Google Sites.

Google Apps: Changes in Supported Browsers & Actions to Take
Dear Google Apps Administrator,
We are contacting you to let you know you important changes in Google Apps browser support and recommended steps to take.
Beginning on August 1, 2011, Google Apps support for the following browsers versions will be DISCONTINUED:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 7
- Mozilla Firefox 3.5
- Apple Safari 3
After August 1, you may have trouble using certain features in Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Talk, Google Docs and Google Sites with these older browsers, and eventually these apps may stop working entirely.
WHY THE CHANGE?
To give users the best experience with Google Apps, we need the capabilities of modern browsers to deliver features such as desktop notifications for Gmail and drag-and-drop file upload in Google Docs.
For this reason, beginning August 1, 2011, Google Apps will support the current and previous major releases of Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari on a rolling basis. Each time a new version is released, we'll begin supporting that version and stop supporting the third-oldest version.
ACTIONS TO TAKE NOW
For the best experience and support from Google, we encourage you to update to the latest version of your favorite browser now. There are many to choose from:
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Apple Safari
Note: Gmail offline requires either Firefox 3.6 or Internet Explorer 8. Read more about supported browsers for Google Apps in the Help Center:

Sincerely,
The Google Apps Team

Google Apps - Preparing for World IPv6 Day on June 8th, 2011
Dear Google Apps administrator,
On June 8th, 2011 -- World IPv6 Day (http://worldipv6day.org/) -- major web companies, including Google, Facebook, Yahoo!, and Microsoft, will enable IPv6 on many of their websites for 24 hours to test how IPv6 performs in the real world. That day, we'll be using IPv6 (http://worldipv6day.org/faq/index.html) for Google Apps, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Sites.
More than 99.9% of people shouldn't have any problems during this industry-wide test, but your experience on June 8th will depend on your computer and network configuration.
- If you only have IPv4, you'll simply use IPv4 as usual and not see any test-related problems.
- If your configuration is ready for IPv6, you'll automatically use IPv6 and not see any test-related problems.
- In rare cases if you have IPv6 enabled but not configured properly, you may have connectivity issues with Google Apps and other test sites on June 8th.
If you'd like to start checking your organization's IPv6 preparedness before June 8th, you can instruct your users to visit ipv6test.google.com from the devices where they access Google Apps, like primary work machines, tablet devices and home computers. If you discover IPv6 connectivity problems, you can find troubleshooting tips and more information here: http://www.google.com/support/websearch/bin/answer.py?hl=en&topic=8995&answer=1299266
If you are having a major issue related to this from now until the end of June 8th, 2011 and need to contact us about IPv6, please submit your inquiry here: https://spreadsheets.google.com/a/google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dGx2UnV1RTdEY25HSlJ4VGQ2QW9jM2c6MQ. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
Thank you,
The Google Apps Team
