Resources

Building a Web Practice around Google Apps
We recently delivered this webinar with Redmond Channel Partner for an audience of prospective Google Apps resellers. In it Jeff Ragusa walks through some of the ways our successful partners have built a practice around Google Apps and are driving customers toward 100% web.

New "reseller-friendly" Google Apps introductory video
We noticed that the short videos on our product website have links to our own sign up flow and reference our list pricing, making them awkward for our partner community to use. So we removed those elements in this Google Apps introductory video and now you can share it with prospects without causing confusion. It focuses on the value of the Google Apps suite, showing the power of messaging and collaboration for teams and businesses. Embed the video in your web site by copying the code.

Reseller video testimonials
Learn from other resellers why they decided to become Google Apps resellers and how they have built their business around Google products. Go to the Apps Reseller Program YouTube channel for these reseller stories.

A refresher on our great mobile support
Find the latest in mobile supportability for Google Apps on the Google Apps for Mobile page, and particularly Google Apps experience on Android devices. The mobile team has also made the Gmail for mobile app sharper and smoother on high-resolution phones, such as the iPhone 4m, and created a simple pull down and release option to refresh Message List. Stay update to date on the latest developments in mobile through the Google Mobile Blogand find more here about mobile updates for Google Apps.

Top 10 reasons why customers trust Google Apps with their business data
Be sure to check out this post by Adam Swidler (Senior Manager, Google Apps) covering the top 10 data protection and reliability advantages of Apps. Some great points in there to share with tentative prospects.

New Look and Changes to Your Google Apps Services

Google Apps

Dear Google Apps Admin,
Over the next months, Google is rolling out a new look and feel across its products, including Google Apps services such as Gmail, Calendar, Docs, and Sites. Following is information about the rollout and steps to take for your account.
How will the changes affect my Google Apps users?
We'll release interface updates on an ongoing basis, initially to consumers—with some services offering an opt-in/opt-out option for Google Apps users. For example, you can take a look at the new Gmail in progress by selecting a special Preview theme. Over the next months, the changes will become permanent for all users.
The rollout will follow the Google Apps Release Track process (learn more). Administrators can choose the Rapid Release track to adopt the new look at roughly the same time as consumers. Or they can choose the Scheduled Release track to receive changes later and take more time to prepare for the transition.
What's available now?
The new look is available in the following apps:
  • Gmail: Consumer, Rapid Release, and Scheduled Release users can preview through a special theme
  • Calendar: Consumer, Rapid Release, and Scheduled Release users can try out
  • Documents List: Consumer and Rapid Release users can try out
What do I need to do?
  • See what's new: We encourage you to preview the new look over the next few weeks to gain familiarity with upcoming changes. See the What's New site for instructions to try out the latest interfaces in Gmail, Calendar, and Docs.

  • Review your current release track settings: Administrators who choose the Scheduled Release track will have more time after the Rapid Release date before changes become available to their users. Depending on your needs you may want to update the release track setting in your Google Apps control panel.

  • Notify your users: On the New Look page of the What's New site, you'll find email templates, videos, and slide decks to help communicate the upcoming changes with your users.
We're very interested in what you think about think about the new look, and welcome your feedback!
How can I keep up to date?
On the Google Apps What's New site, you'll find information about the release process, the latest on the new look, and resources for you and your users.
Sincerely,
The Google Apps Team

New Look for Google Apps

Hello Oleg,

We would like to keep you informed of important changes to Google Apps that may affect your customers. As part of our commitment to facilitate and enhance the relationships you've developed, we have not directly communicated the information below with your customers. You can use the content of this message and from the Google Enterprise blog post to notify them of this change.

Message for your customers

Google recently announced a project to bring you a new and improved Google experience and you'll see an updated look and feel rolling out across Google's products. These interface changes will also be released to your Google Apps services, such as Gmail, Calendar, and Docs, over the next months. The goal is to give you a more seamless and consistent online experience -- one that works no matter which Google product you're using or what device you're using it on.

How will this affect my Google Apps users?

We'll roll out updates on an ongoing basis, releasing them initially to consumers, with some services offering an opt-in/opt-out option for Google Apps users before the changes become permanent. For example, you can start to preview the new Gmail look this week.

The rollout will follow the Google Apps Release Track process. Administrators can choose the Rapid Release track to move to the new look at the roughly same time as consumers. Or they can choose the Scheduled Release track to receive changes later and take more time to prepare for the transition.

What do I need to do now?

  • See what's new: The first updates to Gmail and Calendar were released this week. We encourage you to preview the new look over the next few weeks to gain familiarity with upcoming changes. See the What's New site for instructions.
  • Review your current release track settings. Administrators who choose the Scheduled Release track will have more time after the Rapid Release date before changes become available to their users. Depending on your needs you may want to update the release track setting in your Google Apps Control panel.

How will this affect my Google Apps users?

On the Google Apps What's New site, you'll find information about the release process, and instructions on how to try the new designs for Gmail and Calendar. We'll keep this site up to date with information on the new look, how to give feedback, and resources for you and your users
